Márta Dobay-Fricsay is the daughter of the renowned Hungarian conductor Ferenc Fricsay (1914–1963), celebrated for his leadership of major European orchestras and his influential contributions to classical music. Márta has dedicated herself to preserving and promoting her father’s legacy.
In 2015, she spearheaded the effort to designate her father’s gravesite in Ermatingen, Switzerland, as a protected memorial, ensuring it would not be lost to neglect.
Márta has also contributed to projects Honouring her father’s work, offering personal insights and quotes for commemorative releases.
Since 2023, she has served as the patron of the International Ferenc Fricsay Conducting Competition.
