Gabriel Hollander

Gabriel Hollander is a Belgian conductor and pianist who studied piano and mathematics simultaneously. As he finished his Master in Mathematics in 2012, he studied piano for one year at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. In 2015, he finished his Master of Music degree in piano, being a student of Boyan Vodenitcharov (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel).

Hollander is classically trained in conducting, vocal coaching and piano. His musical mentors were Daniel Blumenthal, Markus Tomas, Rodolfo Saglimbeni and Kenneth Kiesler. He has also been awarded several prizes, including the Jong-Tenuto, Cantabile, Rotary Brueghel and Dexia Classics competitions.

He has worked with various international singers such as Sarah Defrise, Géraldine Naus, Marco Zelaya, Astrid Defauw, Emmanuel Junk. In 2016, he was also one of the official accompanists at the Triomphe de l’Art singing competition.

In addition to his activities as a pianist, chamber musician and accompanist, Gabriel Hollander studied orchestral conducting with Dominique Rammaert, Rodolfo Salgimbeni, Denise Ham, Toby Purser and Kenneth Kiesler.

Peter Eötvös Foundation. Uccle

Since 2017, he has been music director and principal conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Uccle. Since 2018, he has also been music director and principal conductor of the German Embassy Choir of Brussels and the Brussels Madrigals Singers. In 2023, Hollander was a conductor mentee of the Peter Eötvös Foundation for Contemporary Music.
